Eastend High School graduation

Posted on June 16, 2014 by Shaunavon Standard

Eastend High School held their Graduation Exercises on Friday, June 13th in the Eastend Memorial Hall, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Mistress of Ceremonies for the evening was Mrs. Val Gordon. Lisa Wanlin lead everyone in the singing of O Canada. The hall was filled to capacity with family and friends to help this year’s grad class celebrate their big day.

Ms. Dean, Principal of Eastend School, gave the ‘Principals Address’ to the Grads and wished them all the best in their future endeavours. Ms. Dean also gave an interesting view on the Grads in the capacity as ‘guest speaker’.

Cynthia Fehr brought a message from the Eastend School Community Council and congratulated the students on their graduation milestone.

A special and wonderful slide presentation showcasing each of the grads from ‘then’ to ‘now’ was enjoyed by everyone. Each grad had chosen special music to accompany their pictures. There were also a number of group pictures and well-chosen music depicting their Grade 12 year; such memories.

A special thank you to Ms. Laird who prepared the slide show.

The valedictorian address was given by Shaila Humphrey and Tess Ryder. Their address was very well presented with a good deal of humour.

Thank you messages were presented by Ashley Arendt.
